Bishop Robert Barron’s new video series The Mass will be offered at St. John’s beginning October 2 and continuing each Tuesday. Sessions will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. and repeated at 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Bauer Evangelization Center hall. Everyone is welcome to attend. Registration is required so we can prepare for you properly. October is marks Respect Life Month, as recognized by the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. This year’s Respect Life Month theme is “Every Life: Cherished, Chosen, Sent.” http://www.usccb.org/about/pro-life-activites/respect-life-program/index.cfm.

Join in our prayerful vigil at Planned Parenthood, 170 Thomas Johnson Dr. on Tuesdays, through October 30, or pray at home if you are unable to come to the vigil. More info below. Please join us at St. Joseph Church, Buckeystown, for prayer before the Blessed Sacrament which will include prayer, reflection by our priests, and song. We will begin this prayer at 7:00 and it will end by 8:30. We will pray for those who are survivors of abuse, we will pray for our Church and for the change that needs to come about, and we will pray for our community, that we truly may be doers of the Word.
On September 7, Archbishop Lori has asked for a day of fasting and prayer. St. Joseph parishioners will join in the daily 8:00 a.m. Mass at St. John Frederick. A Votive Mass for the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be celebrated. Please join us.
If you would like to attend the celebration on June 6th, please review the letter which was mailed to all registered parishioners on May 4. Note there is a charge for this event and the RSVP deadline is Monday May 21. There is limited seating. Responses will be dated as received and seating will be 1st come, 1st served.
Later in the year, there will be another opportunity to celebrate with Fr. Kevin during a reception after Mass. There will be no charge for this event. More details will be forthcoming.
