We’ve all pondered the age-old question: Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? It can be disheartening when we’re faithfully devoted, attending church, praying, and following God’s path, only to face adversity. But if we look at the scriptures, we see that even great holy figures like our Lady and Jesus Himself endured hardships. Life isn’t always smooth sailing, and that’s a reality we must accept. So, when we question why God allows evil in our lives, let’s turn to Jesus, the sinless Son of God, who faced the greatest of evils—the crucifixion at the hands of those He loved. Just as Jesus brought salvation through the pain of the cross, perhaps the challenges we face now have a greater purpose we can’t fully grasp yet. So, instead of asking why bad things happen to good people, let’s consider what God is trying to bring out in us through these struggles and trials.
