In this Jolt of Faith, we reflect on the recent tragedy at Annunciation Catholic Church and the heartbreaking question many ask: Where is God in suffering? Why doesn’t God stop evil?
While there are no simple answers, Scripture, the life of Jesus, Mary, and the saints all remind us that faith endures through hardship. In moments of grief, tragedy, and loss, our call is to draw closer to God—not away from Him—trusting that He can bring peace beyond understanding.
🙏 A message of hope and encouragement for anyone struggling with questions of faith, suffering, or tragedy.

Jolt of Faith 9/11 – Where is God in Tragedy?
For this first Jolt of Faith for the month of September, I think, while it’s still fresh in all of our minds in a sad way,the tragic events that happened at Annunciation Catholic.Church causes all of us to really question Where was God during all of that? You know, you think of church and Catholic schools and kids at mass is a safe place and to have such horror and such evil break into that.where two young people lost their lives. Makes all of us kind of question. Why didn’t God stop that? Well, I don’t pretend to have the answer those questions. And I think as people of faith, we all struggle when evil and tragedy seem to be taking over. But in those moments when we’re questioning those are the moments where we need to turn closer to God rather than further from God.Because if we look at the scriptures,If we look at Jesus life, Mary’s life, the Saints, they all face tragedy. They all faced questions. They all faced difficulties, but yet through it, they kept their faith and they kept walking with God,trusting that somehow God would see them through. And I think, as we continue to grapple with this, tragedy and all the tragedies of shootings and unimaginable, crimes that take place, as people of faith, that’s our only recourse to keep holding on to keep trusting that somehow God will bring us through and give us that peace which only He can give. Not an answer, not a sermon. But I think what we all need to be reminded of in times like this.
