Cantor Recruitment and Training
This past fall, we welcomed three new musicians to our cantor ministry.  We are blessed and fortunate to have a wonderful group of singers who offer their gifts and talents to the glory of God each weekend at our masses.  We are looking to continue to expand our available resources for this volunteer liturgical musical ministry as we move into Lenten/Easter seasons.  Singing and music reading ability are necessary and training and musical support are offered by our current cantors and by Nae Pearson, our Director of Music.  High School Youth and all adults are invited and encouraged to email Nae by cell phone at 703-629-0153.

The St. John Handbell Ringers celebrated Christmas on several occasions with wonderful music-making!  The bell choir continues to hold regular rehearsals on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 p.m. either in the organ loft of the main church or in the music room on the lower level of the Echles Parish Center. In this new season, we continue to welcome new members to the group.  Music reading ability is helpful but not mandatory.  No prior bell-ringing experience necessary.  Come share your musical gifts with the parish!  For further information or questions, contact Nae Pearson, Director of Music at Holymusic@aol.com or by cell phone at 703-629-0153.

We Got Strings!!!  A wonderful ensemble of 14 string players enhanced our Christmas Eve mass at 8:00 p.m. with carols and special pieces throughout the mass.   At the present time, we will continue with weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the organ loft of the main church or in the music room on the lower level of the Echles Parish Center. Our goal is to continue with regular playing at selected masses and to begin to prepare music for the upcoming Lenten/Easter season.  This group is for intermediate through advanced players, music reading and experience are necessary.  If you are interested in learning more about this ensemble please contact Nae Pearson or by cell phone at 703-629-0153.
