St. Joseph of Cupertino: Do Your Best and Leave the Rest to God | Saintly Summer | 7.23.26

This week in our Saintly Summer series, we reflect on the life of St. Joseph of Cupertino, a Franciscan friar and patron saint of students and test takers. St. Joseph struggled with his studies and faced many difficulties throughout his life. But what stood out most was his deep love for God. Through prayer, humility, and perseverance, he continued to place God at the center of his life. His example reminds us that the world may measure success by accomplishments, titles, and achievements—but God looks at the heart. St. Joseph teaches us to do our best, persevere through difficulties, love God and our neighbors, and trust God with the rest.

Key Takeaways:
– Our worth is not measured by success, titles, or achievements.
– Loving God and our neighbor is what matters most.
– Difficulties can be met with humility, perseverance, and trust.
– We are called to do our best and leave the rest to God.
– St. Joseph reminds us to place our struggles and anxieties in God’s hands.

Reflection Question:
What is one difficulty you can entrust to God today?

Our saint for today is Saint Joseph of Cupertino. He was a Franciscan Friar, who always struggled in school studies were very hard and difficult for him, but there was something about him that was very special and it was that he loved God with all his heart. And even though he had some difficulties in his life he always put that love in front of everything else and he loved God so much that he had very special moments of prayer – where his heart and even his own body, sometimes would levitate as his prayer, would lift up to God. And so today we can learn from St. Joseph of Cupertino that in a world that measures everything by success, and by titles, the most important thing is to love God, to love neighbor, to persevere through difficulties and to be humble. And so St. Joseph teaches us to do our best and to let the rest for God to do it. And so today, we are asking St. Joseph to help us as he is the patron, saint of students and of test takers that he will intercede for us. That we could do well, both in school and in life. St. Joseph of Cupertino, pray for us.
