How we reconcile the reality of suffering with a good and loving god? And as a priest, I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen leave the church or become a nun because they think How can God let suffering happen? I’d like to share with you a few ways I make sense of it when I’ve had to confront suffering in my own life. The video today is on the topic that suffering is redemptive. I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but think about it. That in God’s love, even something as horrific as the crucifixion, God was able to bring good out of it By that being the means that Jesus would destroy sin and death for us. So to say, our suffering is redemptive, means that just like God the Father brought good out of that horrendous and horrific situation that happened on Calvary so God can bring good out of our suffering as well.
