The Most Important Schedule You Need This Fall | Jolt of Faith+ | 9.10.26

As a new school year begins, families are getting back into the rhythm of school, sports, activities, carpools, and everything else that fills the calendar. But there’s one schedule we shouldn’t overlook: our spiritual schedule. In this week’s Jolt of Faith, we look at the most important appointment to put on the calendar this fall: Sunday Mass. In the midst of busy schedules and competing commitments, Sunday Mass gives us the opportunity to come together as a family, worship God, and receive Jesus in the Eucharist. As we settle into the new rhythm of the school year, let’s make sure our spiritual lives have a place at the center of our schedules—not as one more thing to fit in, but as the foundation for everything else.

Una sacudida de fe - Texto completo

As we begin a new school year, I think most of us are used to making a New Year’s resolution to January 1, especially for families with young people. It’s really the beginning of the school year. That is the beginning of your new year, getting used to a schedule and soccer practice and ballet drop off and car pools and all those other things. So, as we begin a new school year, it’s a great time as we’re getting used to our schedule again from the relaxation of summer, to start looking at our spiritual schedule. What are those things day in and day out that I do? spiritually, that it can help me draw closer to God?So, this week, first week, I’m going to talk about, obviously the most important and most crucial thing, which is Sunday Mass. We’re all busy.We all have a lot of things going on.And I know a lot of times soccer practice and travel teams and everything else hits on Sunday morning. But as a family, do I really build my week around that time of coming together to worship God and receive Jesus in the Eucharist? You’ve heard me say before I can encounter God anywhere because God is everywhere that I can only receive him in one place. And that is through those doors at the altar. And that’s why Sunday Mass is so important, as the Bedrock and the foundation.Of not only my spiritual schedule, but my family life. So as we get back into the cut and grind of real life with school, starting back up, whether we’re a parent of a young child, or senior citizen, it’s a great time to really make sure our spiritual schedule is set right as well. That that Sunday Mass, which is so important to my spiritual life, is at the center and the heart of not only my weekly schedule, but my spiritual schedule as well. Not a sermon, not a homily, but just that little Jolt of Faith to keep us on track.
